After losing his wife, a laid-back celebrity surfer trades the beaches of Malibu for small-town Wisconsin, uprooting his quirky family to help his childhood best friend save a struggling brewery—and discovering that sometimes the biggest wave in life is starting over.

SYNOPSIS

Tommy Donahue had the kind of life most people only dream about: a successful career as a professional surfer, a home near the beaches of Malibu, and a family he adored. But after the sudden loss of his wife, Sarah, the ocean that once gave Tommy purpose becomes a constant reminder of everything he's lost.

When his lifelong friend, Andy Park, offers him the chance to help breathe new life into Lakeside Brewery in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Tommy sees an opportunity for something his family desperately needs—a fresh start. There's just one problem: his family isn't exactly ready for Wisconsin.

Along for the ride are Tommy's outspoken, social-media-obsessed teenage daughter Sydney; his thoughtful, piano-playing son Luke; and his endlessly optimistic mother Louise, whose good intentions have an uncanny ability to create chaos. Trading palm trees for snowstorms and surfboards for beer barrels, the Donahue’s quickly discover that adjusting to Midwest life is going to take more than a change of address.

As Tommy and Andy fight to keep Lakeside Brewery afloat against ambitious rival Jack Stone and his booming Timber Tavern, Tommy must also navigate single fatherhood, family growing pains, old friendships, new beginnings, and the everyday absurdities of raising a California family in Wisconsin.

Filled with fish-out-of-water comedy, colorful small-town characters, and plenty of heart, Brewed Awakening is a story about family, friendship, second chances, and discovering that sometimes you must leave everything familiar behind to find where you truly belong.
